Product Description:
Rooftop Insulation is a water-based, spreadable elastomeric roof waterproofing product created from special acrylic copolymers.
It has high elasticity and resists systolic or diastolic movements of the capillary cracks on any concrete, metal or wood surface. It has high resistance to the effect of intense weather conditions and duration. At the same time it provides whiteness and solar reflectivity, thus improving the energy efficiency of the building by reducing the surface temperature of the roof and the energy for cooling the spaces below it.
Technical Data:
Color: White
Density: 1.41g/mL at +23°C.
Water Vapor Permeability: Sd=0.85m (EN ISO 7783- 2, water vapor permeable
Class I, Sd<5m)
Water Permeability: w=0.014 kg/m2 h 0.5
Adhesion: 1.4 MPa (EN 1542
Technical UV aging: (EN 1062-11 after 2000 hours in use: No chalking, bubbles, cracks or detachment).
Viscosity: 130 KU
Reaction to fire : Class F (EN 13501-1)
Touch time: 2-3 hours at +23°C
Repainting time: 18-20 hours at +23°C.
The substrate to be painted must be clean and dry without dust, foreign substances, rust, oils, powders or other contaminants that can cause loose adhesion. In the event of voids on the surface, they should be filled. Then apply Water Acrylic Primer after diluting with water 1:3 and
with a consumption of about 200 gr/m2.
The product is applied at a consumption of approximately 0.600-0.750 Kg/m2 while the next layers follow after the product has dried and is passable.
In cases where the surface shows a relatively high crack (larger than the capillary and more frequent in number) it is recommended to reinforce it with strips of glass mesh or with the use of polyester fabric and which will overlap at their ends. In this case, after the primer has dried, a layer of product is applied and before it dries, it is recommended to place the glass mesh or the polyester fabric so that it touches satisfactorily, or if possible, is embedded in the layer. It is then recommended to apply an additional layer of product on the surface of the fiberglass or fabric. Finally, at least two additional layers of product follow with a maximum consumption of 0.750 Kg/m2 per layer for optimal results.
Rollers, brushes, or airless spray systems can be used to apply the product and the tools are cleaned with water and detergent immediately after use.
